To forgive and forget

Can someone please show me where it says in the Bible to forgive and forget?

The Psalms say:

As far as the east is from the west,

So far has He removed our transgressions from us.

Psalms 103:12

But that’s talking about God forgetting our sins. Yes….

Jesus said to him, “I do not say to you, up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven.

Matthew 18:22

We need to forgive but forgetting?

I know God wants us to forgive but don’t you think He knows we are human … not perfect … He knows we are gonna fail.

I’m not saying to not strive to be Christ-like but more of watch your back. Meaning? God doesn’t want you to be a punching bag, He doesn’t want you to be taken advantage of. Not at all my friends. Forgive but be on guard of your heart.

I grew up most of my life thinking I needed to be close and keep my abusers in my inner circle – cause that’s what good Christians do right? Forgive and forget…right?

Wrong.

Again look at it this way: God created you and thinks the world of you so much that He sent His son to die for you. If He thinks that much of you – why are you allowing yourself to be beat up or lied to time after time?

When did I learn this lesson? This year.

Be kind to yourself … please realize your worth as a child of God.

“Then it shall come to pass, because you listen to these judgments, and keep and do them, that the LORD your God will keep with you the covenant and the mercy which He swore to your fathers. And He will love you and bless you and multiply you; He will also bless the fruit of your womb and the fruit of your land, your grain and your new wine and your oil, the increase of your cattle and the offspring of your flock, in the land of which He swore to your fathers to give you.

Deuteronomy 7:12-13
