motivation

My daughter is learning the value of money. She wants to get her own tech – she keeps changing her mind about it. Lord knows what it’ll be. to foster good monetary management we are making her pay for it. So she’s doing jobs here and there to earn the money for it. $0.25 cents here…$1 there…showing her that with hard work she can accomplish a lot. With having ADHD, I already know motivation comes and goes. Like today – she lacked the motivation. She came to me this morning and had some concerns:

“Mom I dont think I want to buy an iPod. Its taking too long”

After a talk with her – she seemed renewed. She ran downstairs and started doing things. Awesome right?

Well…I went downstairs and the chore I gave her was not done carefully. It was haphazard, it showed she was just going through the motions. She then asked to do laundry. She switched one load and has not done anything since.

Got me thinking about us. How we are the same with the Lord.

We go enthusiastic for a bit in our relationship with God and then?

But unlike us? He still gives us blessings and encouragements right? He still is patient with us – waiting for us to get with the program.

Thank you Lord for your patience.
